  I have to say I’m very disappointed with the services he and his clinic provided. He’s hardly there to check on the progress of the procedure, charges high premium yet most of the work is done by trainees. Thus, the end result was way below average!
  Do your research, there’re much better options nowadays than just taking your dentist!
  
  In an interesting development, today I was contacted by Dr Mahony’s office, they were unhappy about the above review (on my personal experience as a former patient) threatening to take legal action If I didn’t delete it immediately! So basically they’re saying “like our services or else” Can you believe it?
  An indication on what to expect from their
  practice.
  Food for thought!

  Dr. Mahony is one of the best orthodontist in the world! I actually live in the United States but I am very familiar with his work and published literature. There are many orthodontists that don't understand that how you breathe affects your face. He gets it! His work is second to none!

  The most unprofessional practice I have had the misfortune of experiencing. I have seen many specialists and medical professionals in my lifetime and this was the most unorthodox system of operating I have ever seen.
  A few months back, a conjoint consultation with Dr Mahony and a specialist surgeon was made to discuss my options. The 'consultation' lasted 5 mins where the specialist surgeon answered a lot of my questions with 'I will discuss all that is involved with you later'. I thought he meant he would discuss all the questions I had during the current consultation but no, I was ushered out of the room to reception to pay $95 for the appointment. I was told that I was to make another appointment with the specialist surgeon to discuss my treatment in detail... and pay how much? Pay for a SECOND appointment when I should have had time to ask any questions I had at the FIRST appointment. At the end of the consultation I was told by Mahony to 'go away and have a think about what you would like to do'. Well, how can a customer make an informed decision about what to do without critical information that should have been easily given at the first consultation?
  
  This practice needs to review how they operate to pay more attention to customer time, concerns and worries. There is not an effective amount of time to ask questions and customers often feel extremely rushed in their appointments.
  
  Another major problem is the general work-flow of initial appointments. The first appointment is $150, where Mahony discusses what he recommends for you and then rushes you off to make a make a second appointment so that he can recommend a treatment plan for you with more confidence. The second appointment is where you have teeth x-rays and moulds performed, which costs another $150. Then another $150 is charged for the third appointment where Mahony discusses the final treatment plan with you. I have seen other orthodontists in the past and they have never required 3 separate appointments to tell me my comprehensive treatment plan... something is amiss here. Other orthodontists have taken xrays on the same day as consultation and discussed everything with me then AND didn't charge for the initial consultation. I was then given the option to think about it before proceeding with mouth moulds etc, which would require payment should I decide to go ahead with treatment. This is not the way Mahony's practice runs.
